Human Kinetics got it done early!

Anyone interested in writing a review of the book for Archery Focus magazine? We pay our authors.

    • All critiques and suggestions for drills that could be added are welcome. If we get enough drills suggested there may be a second edition in the future.

    • We tried to address all levels of archers (beginning, intermediate, advanced) in creating the book, but you have to be careful. If you take a recreational archer (who shoots only for fun) and ask him/her to do drills, they won’t do them because they aren’t fun. Of course, the test as to whether you are working with a recreational archer or a serious competitive archer is to give them a drill to do. The recreation archer won’t do it, or do it a few times and quit, and the serious competitive archer will eat it up. (They will do anything (that is doable) they think will help them to win.)

The drills target compound as well as recurve and longbow archers, but of course, the Genesis is a strange bow–it has no letoff like all other compounds but it doesn’t feel like a recurve bow, either.

I wish I could give you a better answer, but I do not have much experience with NASP archers. (Claudia became the NASP trainer.) maybe you can get your school to buy a copy for the school library and then you won’t be out-of-pocket if it doesn’t help all that much.

There’s a review of the book in issue 138 of Bow International.
